Inspired by the concept of technology, the frames of the architecture are formed by vertical flexed columns which represents electronic signals and complexity of computing technologies. The image shows the basic shape of columns developing from sketching parallel projections to sketch up models.
1.2 Concept absorb from Designers
BURTON:'Considered the implications of architecture on the creation of distinct urban environments in which they featured...'
By adding this concept into my 3D model making, consideration of site can be a main factor of architecture implications. Therefore by considering the site of the rail station which is in the entrance of the uni and sitting on the main walkway, the station responses to surrounding buildings and adding new features towards to existing urban district...
MAKAKA:'Aims to create a unique journey for the people...'
Considering of this design concept, the use of space can be an essential element that have to think about. The tail station create 2 level space and connect them by using stairs and ramps. Therefore passengers can enjoy the gradually changing space and level.
1.3 Texture development
The concept of 'light' pattern inspires by the growth of plants. This curvy shape adding complexity by adding branches which reflected Art Nouveau style, which became a stream of design innovation from nu classical style.
This pattern be used on the stair which give visitor a sense of growing and going up.
The concept of 'dark' pattern comes from the wheel prints. This stream of design gives a feeling of smooth and going straight.
This pattern is shown the ramps because of the connection of feeling when walking on the ramp. this feeling of smooth and straight forward can well relate to this pattern.
The site of rail station has been selected on Anzac Pde Kensington, NSW. There are two sections of this station which are east section and west section.
-the east section sit on UNSW main walkway, close to UNSW round house, square house, tyree center.
-the west section sit nearby UNSW car park, nearby NIDA center.
-Sky bridge cross Anzac Pde. connect both sections.
-light rail track separate into two parts sitting on both side of Anzac Pde
This station located in Kensington, NSW, close to the city of Sydney.
As shown on the Australia map, Sydney is close to latitude 33 degree S. The climate type belongs to Humid Subtropical Climate.
Therefore the plant apply for this station is bamboos which adapt to Sydney climate. More importantly, these vertical plants enhance the vertical design language for this station.
